Elsa R. Quiroga

Elsa Ramos Quiroga, 79, of Uvalde died on Nov. 16, 2019, in San Antonio.

A rosary will be recited today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1940, in Uvalde to Carmen (Gonzales) and Leobardo Ramos.

She married Indalecio “Lecho” R. Quiroga in Uvalde on Aug. 2, 1958.

According to the family, Quiroga was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her family, crocheting blankets, listening to music and singing. The family said she was a great cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, of Uvalde; two daughters, Elizabeth Q. Rangel and husband, Manuel, and Stella Q. Romero; one son, Andy R. Quiroga and companion, Darlene Moreno; special niece, Aida Hernandez and husband, Paul, all of Uvalde; brother, Leobardo Ramos Jr. of San Antonio; eight grandchildren, Crystle Rangel, Marysa Q. Martinez, Cristina R. Evans and husband, Gene, Manny Rangel and wife, Gabriella Villarreal, Daniel “Nino” Romero, Gerry Romero and wife, Vanessa, George Samson, Jimmy Olivarez, Alexis Quiroga; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation began yesterday at 2 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Roy Perez, Gene Evans, Manny Rangel, Daniel “Nino” Romero, Jimmy Olivarez and Zachary Arizmendi. Honorary pallbearers will be Kayden Carrasco, Jackson Evans, Alejandra Rangel, Elida Olivarez, Nathaniel Rodriguez, Kara Romero, Madison Hernandez, Jameson Evans and Valentino K. Romero.
