Elena Saldaña, 49, of Batesville died on March 7, 2019, in San Antonio.
She was born on July 14, 1969, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Margarita Villarreal and Salvador Saldaña.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her brother, Salvador Saldaña Jr.
She is survived by her companion of 30 years, Margarito Martinez; son, Kevin Martinez; daughter, Martika Martinez and companion, Brian Mendoza, all of Batesville; five brothers, Guillermo Saldaña and Cruz Saldaña, both of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Robert Saldaña of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Neacho Saldaña of Batesville, and Victor Saldaña of Houston; five sisters, Irma Saldaña, Lupe Nunez, and Sarita Campos, all of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Nettie Martinez of Batesville and Maggie Saldaña of Littlefield; and two grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Monday from noon to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and a rosary was recited both days at 7 p.m., at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home of Uvalde.
A mass of Christian burial was held yesterday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Mission in Batesville, followed by interment at Batesville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Guillermo Saldaña, Robert Saldaña, James Anderson, Luis Saldaña, Kevin Martinez and Brian Mendoza.
