Dorothy M. Everett
Dorothy Mae Everett, 73, of Uvalde died on March 30, 2020, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Visitation will begin tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, and a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
She was born on March 8, 1947, in Damon to Annabell (Stuhrenbeg) and Arnold Elster.
She graduated from Needville High School.
She raised her children in the Barksdale area while residing and working on ranches with her first husband, Gene Borchardt. She worked at the Marshals Barksdale Grocery Store and at the Barksdale Post Office to make ends meet.
She later worked for Southstar Aircraft Interiors as a seamstress. She retired when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, but the family said she remained the best mother, wife and granny one could ask for.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Wayne Everett of Uvalde; daughter, Pamela Garcia and husband, Eugene,of Uvalde; son, Brian Borchardt and wife, Rebecca, of New Braunfels; two sisters, Margie Borchardt of Damon and Barbara Losack of Hondo; three brothers, Arnold Elster and wife, Ruth, of Needville, and Allen Elster and wife, Helen, and David Elster of Damon; four grandchildren, Payton Allee, Brittany Borchardt, Ethan Borchardt and Bradlee Borchardt; and one great-grandson, Henrick Lewis; two stepchildren, Larry Everett and Cristy Everett, both of Marble Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Harold Elster and Glen Elster.
