Dominga Lopez, 97, of Uvalde died Feb. 12, 2020, in Uvalde.
Visitation was held yesterday from 3-9 p.m. and will continue today and tomorrow from noon to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. yesterday, and another will be recited today and tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with interment following at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.
Lopez was born on Feb. 11, 1923, in Crystal City to Marcelina (Ramirez) and Doroteo Lopez.
She is survived by six sons, Isidro Lopez Jr., Arturo Flores and wife, Diana, Jesse Garcia and wife, Josie, all of Uvalde, Celedonio Garcia Jr. of San Antonio, Frank Garcia and wife, Linai, of Fort Worth, and David L. Flores and wife, Anita, of Racine, Wisconsin; four daughters, Gloria Canales and Esmeralda Garcia, both of Uvalde, Hermelinda Donato and husband, Enrique, of Kermit, and Virginia Barnes of Universal City; brother, Inez Lopez of Uvalde; 33 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jose Noel Flores; two brothers, Gabriel Lopez, and Brijido Lopez; and two sisters, Juanita Lopez, and Esperanza Lopez.
Pallbearers will be Danny Ruiz, Arturo Flores, and Jesse Garcia all of Uvalde, Rene Ruiz of D’Hanis, David Flores of Wisconsin, Felix Cruz of Universal City, Homer Ruiz of Virginia, and Johnny Joe Garcia of Oklahoma.
Honorary pallbearers are Isidro Lopez of Uvalde, and Celedonio Garcia of San Antonio.
