Diane M. Flores
Diane Martinez Flores, 56, of Uvalde died on Aug. 14, 2018, in San Antonio.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1962, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Erlinda Cano Cardona and Antonio Martinez.
She married Ricardo V. Flores Jr. on Dec. 20, 1986, in Uvalde.
Flores was an employee of Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District for more than 10 years.
The family says she was a nurturing person who spent many years working at various daycares and caring for the elderly. She enjoyed music, board games and movies. She loved her cat, Pancho, and family gatherings.
Flores is survived by her mother and stepfather, Rogelio Cardona, of Uvalde; three sisters, Jeanette Martinez and Roxanne Rivera and husband, Adam, all of Uvalde, and Beverly Garcia and husband, Javier, of San Antonio; friends, Nancy Balzen and husband, Barry, of Knippa; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband; and two brothers, James Oliver Cano and twin brother Antonio Martinez Jr.
A rosary was recited on Aug. 15 and again on Aug. 16, 2018, at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A funeral mass was held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were Ethan Rivera, Frank Gaitan, Lalo Zamora, Raymond Cano III, Moses Alvarez and Roy Falcon.
