Debra L. Matull-Rivera
Debra Lynn Matull-Rivera, 65, of Uvalde died on Jan. 31, 2020, in San Antonio.
She was born on July 17, 1954, in San Antonio to Barbara June (Summers) and Glen Lee Kinney.
Matull-Rivera loved and fostered animals, took food to pet shelters, and at the time of her death had six dogs and one cat that she rescued. The family said her pets filled her days with happiness.
She is survived by her wife, Carmen Rivera of Uvalde; two daughters, Barbara Haag and husband, Jonathan, of San Antonio, and Amy Matull Salazar of Converse; brother, Dennis Jurek and wife, Kathy, of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Meaghan Haag, Cole Haag, Anna Salazar and Edward Salazar; and two great-grandchildren, Aspyn Holland and Hadleigh Holland on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A rosary was recited Monday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde, and a graveside service was held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
