Cruz Campos, 85, of Batesville died on Dec. 3, 2017, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
A funeral mass will be held today at 3 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Batesville. Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery.
He was born on May 3, 1932, in Ezequiel Montes, Querétaro, Mexico, to Maria De La Luz and Reyes Martinez.
Campos is survived by two daughters, Norma Luna and husband, Robert, of Andrews and Elvia Galindo of Batesville; four sons, Jaime Campos and wife, Alamar, Abel Campos and wife, Norma, Noe Campos and wife, Francisca, and Guillermo Campos and wife, Maria, all of Batesville; two sisters, Isabel Olvera and Librada Martinez Vega; and two brothers, Guillermo Martinez and Bernardo Martinez, all of Ezequiel Montes, Querétaro, Mexico; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Teodosa Campos, and one granddaughter, Marissa Luna.
A rosary was recited on Tuesday and again yesterday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
Pallbearers were Abel Campos Purdy, Andrew Campos Purdy, Matthew Purdy, Calistro Joaquin Luna, Christian Campos, Adriano Campos, Enrique Galindo, Edward Galindo and Aiden Cantu.
