Charles H. Feller Jr.
Charles Henry “Chuck” Feller Jr., 86, of Utopia, formerly of Yorktown, died on Aug. 3, 2017, at his residence.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo, with interment to follow at 1 p.m. at the Waresville Cemetery in Utopia.
He was born on April 12, 1931, in Yorktown to Edline Elisa (Borgfeld) and Charles Henry Feller Sr. He attended school in Nordheim.
He married Mary Katherine Sinclair on Dec. 14, 1956, in Corpus Christi. He was a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Navy; Feller served two years on the USS Hickox Destroyer.
He had many occupations following his service that included working for Western Electric and Utopia Lumber; he was employed as a postman, gunsmith and constable.
He was a member of the Lions Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Feller is survived by his wife of 60 years; four children, Chuckie Feller and wife, Nancy, Ron Feller and wife, Beverly, and Sharon Van Meter and husband, David, all of Utopia, and Barbara Sinclair and husband, Lem, of Boerne; two sisters, Helen Friedel and husband, James, of Victoria, and Gladys Feller of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and close friends.
Pall bearers will be Justin Van Meter, Chad Feller, Ronnie Feller, Daniel Feller, Patrick McGuire, Lemuel Sinclair and Tony Richey.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
