Apolinar L. Salazar
Apolinar Lopez Salazar, 80, of La Pryor died on Oct. 8, 2017, at Sorrento Nursing Home in San Antonio.
He was born on July 23, 1937 in Taft to San Juana (Lopez) and Alberto Garza Salazar.
He married Margarita Quijano on April 9, 1965, in La Pryor.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, of La Pryor; four daughters, Peggy Ann Salazar and Benita De La Garza, both of Uvalde, Roxann Salazar and Dora Salazar, both of San Antonio; five sons, Martin Q. Salazar, Mark A. Salazar, and John A. Salazar, all of San Antonio, Albert Salazar of Uvalde and Benjamin L. Salazar of Florida; four sisters, Ramona Gonzalez of San Antonio, Vicenta Vega of Florida, Rojelia Salazar of La Pryor and Berta Perez of Victoria; 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Basilicia Ramirez, Benita Tellez, and Francisca Salazar; and one brother, Jacinto Salazar.
A prayer service was held on Oct. 10, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A graveside service was held on Oct. 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. at La Pryor Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Martin Q. Salazar, Mark A. Salazar, Albert Salazar, John A. Salazar, Benjamin L. Salazar, Albert De La Garza, Marco Hoyuela and Brian L. Mendoza.
