Antonio Zapata Jr.
Antonio “Tony” Zapata Jr., 36, of Uvalde died on Aug. 19, 2018, in San Antonio.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1981, in Brownsville to Gabriela (Ortega) and Antonio Zapata.
Zapata is survived by his parents; two sons, Anthony Lee Zapata and Antonio Zapata III; and daughter, Sarah Lynn Zapata, all of Uvalde; and three sisters, Graciela Zapata and Sofia Nelly Zapata and companion, Mario Silguero, all of Uvalde, and Claudia Cardenas and husband, Andrew, of San Antonio.
A visitation was held on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m., at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home of Uvalde.
A mass of Christian burial was held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Romero, Mike Zapata, Servando Zapata, Andres Galan and Joel Zapata.
