Antonia D. Aguilera
Antonia De La Cruz ‘’Nena’’ Aguilera, 100, of Pasadena, formerly of Uvalde, died on April 28, 2017, in Pasadena.
Aguilera was born on Sept. 21, 1916, in Uvalde to Zapopa (De La Cruz) and Jesus Aguilera.
She is survived by niece Anna Belia Al-Hakam of Pasadena; two great-nieces, Elma Elizondo of League City and Melva Treviño of Pasadena; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Aguilera was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Emilia Aguilera and Maria Martinez; and three brothers, Jesus Aguilera Jr., Jose Aguilera and Frank Aguilera.
A rosary was recited on Monday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A mass of resurrection was held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at the Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ernest Gutierrez, Joe Gutierrez, Rafael Gutierrez, Danny Gutierrez, Roberto Aguilera and Juan Aguilera.
