Adan P. Alaniz

Adan P. Alaniz, 52, of Hondo, formerly of Sabinal, died on Jan. 27, 2020, in Uvalde.

Visitation began yesterday at 5 p.m. A rosary was recited yesterday and another will be recited today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal.

A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sabinal, with interment following at Sabinal Cemetery.

Alaniz was born on May 27, 1967, in Laredo to Maria Isabel (Perez) and Antonio Alaniz.

He married Maria H. “Lally” Perez in Uvalde on June 1, 1987.

He is survived by his father, of Sabinal; wife of 32 years, of Hondo and formerly of Uvalde; daughter, Alexandra Christine Alaniz of Sabinal; four sons, Adan Alaniz Jr. and wife, Danielle, of Sabinal, Andrew Alaniz and fiancée, Orion Pompa, of San Antonio, Christopher Perez and wife, RoxAnne, of Vail, Arizona, and Nathaniel Castillo of Hondo; three sisters, Marisol Alaniz of San Antonio, Alma Albarado of Leakey and Norma Alaniz of Corpus Christi; six brothers, Antonio B. Alaniz, Adrian Alaniz and Felipe Alaniz, all of Dunlay, Christian Alaniz of Cotulla, Antonio “Tony” Alaniz of Schertz, and Ricardo Alaniz of Cibolo; and five grandchildren, Adan “Tres” Alaniz III and Avett Ace Alaniz, both of Sabinal, Mina Belle Alaniz and Gage Leo Alaniz, both of San Antonio, and Zyon Perez of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Alaniz, Chris Perez, Antonio B. Alaniz, Adrian Alaniz, Peter Perez, Inez Perez Jr., Ramon Vara and Fernando Morales.
