Hunters kept the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department busy last weekend when the dove season kickoff resulted in game wardens issuing nearly 15 citations.
According to game warden Shay Quinn, most citations involved hunters exceeding daily bag limits, hunting doves in baited areas and utilizing an unplugged shotgun. Quinn said no hunting-related arrests were made.
Quinn said he wanted to stress to hunters that the daily bag limit is 15 doves per day, not per hunt.
