Two Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District board trustees have tendered their resignations. At-large member Maria Martinez and East Zone member Willie Edwards await approval action when the board meets tomorrow at 6 p.m. during a special called session.
The board will meet in the Central Office conference room, 1000 N. Getty.
Subsequent action will require approval of appointment and swearing in of two new board members to fill the unexpired terms of Martinez and Edwards.
Reorganization of the board is also an agenda item. Currently, Mickey Gerdes is the president. However, on the agenda, the positions of board president, vice-president, and secretary are listed.
Also, the new board will elect a Texas Association of School Board delegate and alternate, appoint a member to approve monthly bills and approve the president and secretary for bank depository cards.
One of the items listed for deliberation during closed session is the resignations of the two trustees and possible replacements.
