Stolen machinery found in Uvalde

Uvalde police and sheriff’s deputies have arrested two individuals in connection with two separate heavy machinery thefts that occurred Sept. 5 and Aug. 31. Additional arrests are pending.

Matthew Jacob Mendoza, 26, and Zaydie Jeanette Rodriguez, 24, both of 118 Hightower Lane, were arrested Sept. 7 on charges of theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000; possessing between 4 ounces and five pounds of marijuana; and possessing between 4 and 400 grams of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2.

Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Fry Homes at 1601 Hacienda Road on Aug. 31 for a burglary that took place between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Items stolen included a four-wheeler and miscellaneous tools. The burglar was seen on surveillance video.

On Sept. 5, at 9:20 p.m., Uvalde Police responded to Agro Equipment at 633 S. Getty St. in reference to a gate that was damaged and left ajar.
