St. Philip’s students collect Christmas gifts for needy families

Rather than taking part in a gift exchange, students at St. Philip’s Episcopal School presented two Uvalde families with donations of clothing, blankets, food and toys.

“We are hoping to show our children the true meaning of Christmas and giving,” said Principal Jean Ann Chisum.

On Thursday and Friday, children celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ with storytelling, games, birthday cake, and refreshments.

Nearly 60 gifts were collected for distribution to recipient families on Friday evening.
