On Aug. 3, a motorcyclist sustained minor injuries after driving off U.S. Highway 83 South near the first entrance of the Uvalde Estates to avoid collision with a 2002 Silverado towing a trailer.
The incident was reported at 9:48 a.m., and the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Silverado was traveling east on County Road 207 when the driver failed to yield the right-of-way while turning north onto U.S. Highway 83. The maneuver caused the driver to nearly strike a motorcycle traveling north on the highway.
“The motorcycle avoided the collision with the Silverado by driving off road onto the west side of U.S. Highway 83,” read a statement by a DPS spokesperson.
The motorcyclist did not require hospitalization. As of last Thursday, no citation had been issued.
