Ghost tales, costume contest set Friday

The Main Street Uvalde program will host a Halloween decorating and costume contest as well as a community movie night this week. The costume contest, open to adults only, is planned in the downtown plaza during Four Square Friday, when El Progreso Memorial Library will also stage its Lantern Ghost Tour.

Costume contest

Contestants 18 years old or older must be on the plaza square by 6:30 p.m., when judging will take place. Group costumes are welcomed, but prize money will be split between group members.

No real weapons or inappropriate costumes will be allowed. Costumes should not be revealing, racist, sexist or homophobic.
