Three young men and a teenager were arrested Tuesday morning after they were caught attempting to burglarize SOE Beverage Barn on North Getty Street.

The group also allegedly confessed to stealing two bicycles from EZPAWN late Monday night and organizing a string of burglaries last month along U.S. Highway 90.

Adrian Chavarria, 23, of 2601 Garner Field Road, No. 244, was arrested by Uvalde Police Department on charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon, burglary of a building, unlawful use of criminal instrument and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Justyn Travis, 18, address unknown, was arrested by Uvalde Police Department on charges of burglary of a building, unlawful use of a criminal instrument and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Ethan Tyler Austin Bobo, 20, of 1510 Garner Field Road, Apt. 602, was arrested by Uvalde Police Department on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity.

A 15-year-old male was taken to a juvenile correctional facility in Kerrville.

Uvalde Police officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of North Getty Street early Tuesday morning for a report of three male subjects walking toward the back of the beverage barn.

“Officers spotted two male subjects running toward North Getty Street from the back of the business,” said Lt. Mariano Pargas. “Officers made contact with the subjects, who were identified as Adrian Chavarria and Justyn Travis.”

According to Pargas, as officers approached Chavarria and Travis, the men tossed gloves aside.

“They also had backpacks with tools used for burglaries including crowbars, gloves, masks,” Pargas said, noting that the juvenile was spotted a few feet away on North Getty Street.

As officers spoke to Chavarria, Travis and the juvenile, they observed a vehicle pass by twice. Officers stopped the vehicle and identified Ethan Bobo as the driver.

“He said he was the one that dropped them off and picked them up,” Pargas said, referring to the three individuals found on foot.

The group was taken to the department for an interview, where they allegedly confessed to stealing two bicycles from EZPAWN, 401 E. Main St., late Monday night and burglarizing Schawe Insurance Agency, 2043 E. Main St., and EZPAWN on March 27, as well as Smoking Hills Tobacco, 524 W. Main St. on March 19.

Although 5 Points Market 6 was also burglarized on March 27, they did not confess to that burglary.

“They had attempted to go into Smoking Hills again yesterday morning but were not able to,” Pargas said.

A list of items taken and monetary value is being compiled.
