Sixty-nine cases of the flu have been confirmed in Uvalde since October. Uvalde Memorial Hospital and Community Health Development Inc. are urging local residents to vaccinate themselves against influenza.

According to Karla Radicke, public information officer for UMH, the hospital has treated 57 confirmed cases of Type A and eight type B influenza.

Kim Jaquez, director of nursing at CHDI, said the clinic has treated four cases – two type B and two type A.
