If all goes as planned, construction on Fifth Street and the 800 block of Nopal Street will be completed by Wednesday afternoon.
The streets, which underwent full reconstruction, are the focus for the most intensive repairs of the second phase of the city’s $10 million street repair project. A.E. Hiller and Sons is tasked with the project.
“The 800 block of Nopal Street has already been seal coated, which is the next to last step in order to pave it,” assistant city manager Joe Cardenas said Thursday. “Because Fifth Street is a much longer street, [construction crews] are breaking it up in two sections.”
