Charley Robinson|Uvalde Leader-News Anthon Elementary students react as Gary Scurage, owner of Gator Country Adventure Park in Beaumont, uses a live, unrestricted alligator to show that an alligator can only lower its bottom jaw, cannot see in front of itself and utilizes its tail as a weapon. The school’s Parent Teacher Organization provided an educational program Friday for students on snakes and alligators.

Tomorrow is the deadline to purchase tickets for the Texas Big Game Awards ceremony, which is set Saturday, June 10 in Uvalde. Tickets will not be available at the door.

The awards will be given for regions 4 and 8. Preceding the June 10 event will be a Friday night social on June 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hangar 6 Air Cafe at Garner Field Airport.
