Proposed budget off target

Whittling down the proposed general fund expenditures will be the goal when Uvalde County Commissioners meet this summer for a series of 2017-2018 budget workshops.

The proposed budget released last Monday includes requested general fund expenses of $15,106,801 and income that falls just under $1 million less.

With proposed income of $14,182,328, commissioners will call on county department heads to justify their requests during the workshops, which are set July 10-12 at 6 p.m. each day.
