Convenience store confiscates funny money

When a woman attempted to pay for her merchandise with a fake $100 bill at Peter Rabbit’s, 638 S. Getty St., she was turned down and the faux bill was confiscated by the cashier.

The $100 bill replica and a copy of the store’s surveillance video was turned over to the Uvalde Police Department on April 13.

The store manager said it isn’t the first time they’ve encountered the counterfeit cash, which bears a strong resemblance to U.S. currency but is marked with pink symbols. Store cashiers have also encountered a counterfeit $2 and $1 bill.
