The first-ever local outdoor retreat designed specifically for women by women is scheduled for March 29-31 in Concan.
The event, Women Who Wander, is a weekend of guided excursions and classes, such as hiking, kayaking, nature photography, and firearm safety.
Over the course of the weekend, attendees will attend classes, dine, and enjoy live music. Additional experiences such as spa treatments and wine tastings are also being offered.
Four women with ties to Uvalde County founded the event.
Cassandra Perry, Rachel Kellner, Annabell McNew, Jamie Holmes and Shannon Beasley curated this event creating an assortment of classes, activities, speakers and experiences that is billed as having something for every woman.
“Women Who Wander will provide women ages 21 and over from all over Texas and beyond the opportunity to escape their busy lives, enjoy some fresh air in the Hill Country River Region, reconnect with nature and friends, learn new skills and celebrate women’s wellness and empowerment in a casual safe environment,” McNew said.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation and Texas Game Wardens, specifically supporting the search and rescue efforts of the Texas Game Wardens in times of natural disasters.
Registration for the event is $170. Visit womenwhowandertexas.com for more information.
