West, Ybarra are featured artists at El Progreso

El Progreso Memorial Library director Mendell Morgan has announced Bea Ybarra and Delores West as dual artists of the month for January and February.

Work by both women – Ybarra of Uvalde and West of Sabinal – is currently on display, and both have been honored as artist of the month several times previously.

Ybarra’s favorite mediums this time are water colors and pastels. West’s paintings are oil. Both have become well known throughout the area.

West has six paintings on display. There’s a winter scene, summer home, poppies, gaggle of geese, study of venetian doorway and country setting off Highway 181 going to Floresville.

West’s displayed paintings range in price from $100 to $200.

West was born in Donna but has lived all over the world. She primarily works in ink, oils, watercolor, and colored pencil but enjoys other mediums as well.
