Country stew, gospel music and good ol’ country fellowship have been happening for over a century in that little country church. A fundraiser for the Montell United Methodist Church is scheduled for Saturday, April 14 and it all begins with a country stew dinner at 5 p.m. at the Montell Country Club.
Toni Hull and Friends headline the entertainment starting with the Hackberry Hags and Cokesbury Gospel. Other featured performers include Wayne Whiteaker, Yolanda Bird, Maxine Scott, Sondra Madden, Charlene Cox, Kip and Larry Boales, Anna and Nathan Lafrenz, Jeannine Haughy, Barbara Dillahunty, Carolyn Lampe and Jerrie Anne Salvato.
Sunday services in Montell include United Methodist Church with pastor Doug Smith on the second, fourth and fifth Sunday at 10 a.m. and pastor Tom Luck of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension on the first, third and fifth Sundays at 11 a.m.
