Green Thumbs prep for busy fall planting season

The following was submitted by Patricia Rasor, publicity chairman for the Green Thumb Garden Club of Uvalde.

Fall gardening season is here and the Green Thumb Garden Club is sowing the seeds for another club year of horticultural activities.

“Our members are creative and eager to use their green thumbs to beautify Uvalde,” said Olga Charles, club president, who announced details of the September meeting. All members are invited to the fall kickoff luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Napolis Italian Restaurant, 2217 East Main in Uvalde. Members will order off the menu with an all-inclusive cost of $10. RSVP to Olga Charles at 830-591-4837 by Wednesday morning.

Charles has provided leadership for the group’s many community volunteer service projects and is especially proud of the downtown container plantings that the club developed during last year.
