Girl Scout superhero party set Aug. 5

Lane Riggs

Staff Writer

Finding adult volunteers willing to lead Girl Scout troops is one of the main focuses behind a superhero party slated Saturday, Aug. 5  from 10 a.m. to noon at Trinity Lutheran Church’s outreach building.

Girls attending will have the opportunity to make superhero masks and create superhero coloring pages. Their parents and other adults who attend will be informed how to volunteer and/or register girls in the scouting program.

Girl Scouts is a leadership organization. Girls in kindergarten through 12th  grade can learn skills that build courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place. Participation options include camp, events, travel, troops, cookie sales and fall products.

There is a $25 membership per girl/adult. This is a $10 increase from last year. Financial assistance is available.

Gloria Resma – whose titles include chairman of Community C, troop leader, membership organizer and cookie manager  – got involved because her niece wanted to join the organization.
