Luv Ya Uvalde organizers are seeking monetary donations to host the 35th-annual Thanksgiving luncheon, which is scheduled Wednesday, Nov. 21.
The event will be held at the Uvalde County Fairplex. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
The Thanksgiving meal will consist of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, a beverage and pumpkin pie.
The event originally started as a way to feed the elderly and less fortunate, but over the years it has morphed into a general community dinner. The luncheon is made possible through business donations and other fundraising efforts, such as canned food drives, throughout the year.
